Desert Bighorn Sheep
A small population of desert bighorn sheep (DBS) are present on the Community. The Community has worked closely with the Arizona Game and Fish Department to monitor and record the population numbers through aerial surveys on a periodic basis. This data is maintained in order to begin developing proper management methods which will ensure the existing population is afforded the protection it needs to survive. The DBS are included in the Community’s list of culturally significant animals.
